Angela Brower

Rising American mezzo-soprano, Angela Brower, was raised in Arizona and studied at Arizona State University and Indiana University. Her career started as a young artist singing at the Glimmerglass Opera Young American Artists Program in 2008. She was then invited to join the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich where she later became a member of the Ensemble from 2010-2016. Her portrayal of Dorabella in Così fan tutte, earned her particular attention on the main stage of the Nationaltheater which led to her receiving the prestigious Munich Festival Prize in 2009.

  • On March 9, 12, 17, 21 and 29 Angela Brower headlines the cast for Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier. The first four performances take place at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, and then the whole cast (Adrianne Pieczonka as the Marschallin, Peter Rose as the Baron Ochs and Hanna-Elisabeth Müller as Sophie, among others) travels to New York, where Angela Brower makes her Carnegie Hall debut on March 29.
