Angela Brower

Rising American mezzo-soprano, Angela Brower, was raised in Arizona and studied at Arizona State University and Indiana University. Her career started as a young artist singing at the Glimmerglass Opera Young American Artists Program in 2008. She was then invited to join the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich where she later became a member of the Ensemble from 2010-2016. Her portrayal of Dorabella in Così fan tutte, earned her particular attention on the main stage of the Nationaltheater which led to her receiving the prestigious Munich Festival Prize in 2009.

  • Angela Brower’s debut as Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte will be released in Blu-ray on March 2. It is currently available for pre-order via the Royal Opera House.

    The Jan Philipp Gloger production also features Corinne Winters as Fiordiligi, Daniel Behle as Ferrando, Alessio Arduini as Gugliemo, Sabina Puértolas as Despina and Martin Kränzle as Don Alfonso. Semyon Bychkov conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

    Of her role debut, The Guardian said “Così is nothing if not an ensemble piece, and this cast is unusually well-matched vocally … the street-smart ebullience of Angela Brower’s Dorabella prove no less endearing.”
