  • Luca Pisaroni travels back to New York City to sing Count Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. He has received fantastic praise for his past performances in this role. When he debuted the role in Houston Grand Opera in the spring of 2011, he had The Houston Chronicle raving, “With his dashing looks and proud manner, Pisaroni exudes complete authority and magnetism.  His potent bass-baritone unfurls with such grandeur and resoluteness that one can easily believe this is a fellow who has spent his entire life getting his way.”

He'll be joined by a great ensemble of colleagues, with Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Countess Almaviva, Christiane Karg as Susanna, Serena Malfi as Cherubino and Adam Plachetka as Figaro. Harry Bicket conducts the performances on December 6, 9, 12, 15, 19 and 23.

Richard Eyre’s elegant production, which opened the Met’s 2014–15 season and was featured in movie theaters in HD, sets the action of Mozart’s timeless social comedy in a manor house in 1930s Seville.
