French mezzo-soprano Gaëlle Arquez is one of the rising stars of the opera world. After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the young mezzo-soprano made her debut at the Opéra Bastille in Michael Haneke’s 2013 version of Don Giovanni (Zerlina) under the direction of Philippe Jordan. Ever since she has been invited to sing in many of the most renowned opera houses in the world. Nominated “Révélation Lyrique” at the “Victoires de la Musique 2011”, Gaëlle Arquez is now an exclusive recording artist for Deutsche Grammophon with whom she released her highly anticipated debut recording “Ardente Flamme” in 2017.

  • Gaëlle Arquez will travel to Madrid to continue singing Carmen after her debut embodying the Spanish gypsy at the Bregenz Festival. Arquez will share the stage in this Calixto Bieito production with Andrea Carè and Leonardo Caimi as Don José, Kyle Ketelsen and Fernando Radó as Escamillo and Eleonora Buratto and Olga Busioc as Micaëla. Marc Piollet will conduct the performances starring Ms. Arquez from October 15 until November 4.
