Ildar Abdrazakov

Ildar Abdrazakov has established himself as one of opera’s most sought-after basses. Since making his La Scala debut in 2001 at 25, the Russian singer has become a mainstay at leading houses worldwide, including New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, and Munich’s Bavarian State Opera. His powerful yet refined voice coupled with his compelling stage presence have prompted critics to hail him as a “sensational bass…who has just about everything – imposing sound, beautiful legato, oodles of finesse” (The Independent). Also an active concert artist, he has performed at London’s BBC Proms and at New York’s Carnegie Hall, as well as with leading international orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony and Vienna Philharmonic.

  • 11.02.2019 - II International Music Festival of Ildar Abdrazakov

  • From March 12 to March 24, the Ildar Abdrazakov International Music Festival will be held in Moscow, Ufa, Almetyevsk, and Kazan. Mr. Abdrazakov will present the second festival season to residents of the four Russian cities and will attract about five thousand spectators. The artist will take part in all the events of the festival program. 

    The opening ceremony of the Ildar Abdrazakov II International Festival will take place in Ufa on March 13,  with the participation of the famous baritone, art director of the Festival, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, Milan Theater La Scala — Vasily Ladyuk, and also will bring together talented performers from youth programs of vocal academies of Europe .

    On March 19, a concert will take place on the stage of the Moscow Zaryadie Hall with the participation of the art director of the festival and one of the most recognized tenors bel canto of our time, Lawrence Brownlee. The concert will be accompanied by the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra, with Claudio Vandelli conducting.

    The educational project gives young singers not only a possibility of creative self-realization, participation in master classes, but also an invaluable experience of performing at major concert venues along with the stars of the world stage. The festival will continue with a series of solo concerts by Ildar Abdrazakov “Verdi Gala” in Kazan on March 23 and in Almetyevsk on March 24. Both concerts will be accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Alexander Sladkovsky on the podium.

    Additionally, he sings an Opera Gala Concert with Marina Shaguch at Prague's Rudolfinum on March 3.
