His expansive discography and frequent appearances on the world’s leading opera and concert stages prompted NPR to hail him as “arguably today’s finest lyric tenor,” and led to his being voted Gramophone magazine’s 2012 Artist of the Year. A Grammy-nominated recording artist for Decca Classics, he has released five solo albums for the label.

  • Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper to once again star as Pinkerton in the company’s production of Madama Butterfly. Having last sung the role in Munich last June, Joseph now sings the role for three performances February 21, 23, and 26, opposite Kristine Opolais in the title role.   • 14.08.2014 - Joseph Calleja in Denmark

  • Joseph Calleja appears in Denmark twice this month with concerts in Copenhagen (August 15) and Aalborg (August 17). His appearance in the capital city marks the 171st anniversary of the Tivoli Gardens. Joining the tenor are the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra and conductor Yves Abel.  They will reprise their August 15 program two days later at the Musikkens Hus in Aalborg.
