Described as "one of today's most exciting new operatic voices" (Independent), South African soprano Pumeza Matshikiza is one of today’s rising opera stars. An exclusive Decca Classics recording artist, her debut album “Voice of Hope” was released in 2014. Her second album “Arias” with arias by Puccini, Catalani, Ravel and Mozart and songs by Fauré was released in May 2016.

  • 01.07.2016 - Pumeza Matshikiza - July concerts throughout Europe

  • Pumeza Matshikiza is featured in two concert performances in Europe this month. She sings at the Festival de la Vézère on July 19, with the l’Orchestre symphonique de la Garde Républicaine. This is her premiere appearance at the Festival, which is in its 36th year. Enjoy a video trailer featuring Pumeza and the other artists from this year's programme.

    On July 21 she joins tenor Rolando Villazón at the Schloss Salem for an open-air concert, with the Südwestdeutschen Philharmonie and conductor Duncan Ward. The evening highlights works by Massenet, Donizetti, Bernstein and more.
