  • 24.05.2012 - Centre Stage Artist Management is thrilled to announce the world-wide representation of Piotr Beczala.

Piotr Beczala is generally acknowledged as one of the most exciting and sought-after lyric tenors of our time. The Polish-born artist is acclaimed by audiences and critics alike for not only his beauty of tone and impeccable style, but also for his ardent commitment to each character he portrays.

Mr. Beczala has had a remarkable 2011-12 season. It has found the tenor in many of the world’s music capitals, beginning in Switzerland with the Zürich Opera (Rigoletto with Diana Damrau and Leo Nucci), followed by his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu (concerts of Faust alongside Krassimira Stoyanova and Erwin Schrott), La traviata at the Royal Opera Covent Garden, and New Years’ Eve concerts at Dresden’s Semperoper under the baton of Christian Thielemann. These performances were televised and released on CD and DVD by Deutsche Grammophon. Mr Beczala began 2012 with performances of Rigoletto at the Paris Opéra Bastille and his role debut as Chevalier des Grieux at the Metropolitan Opera in a new production of Manon directed by Laurent Pelly, alongside Anna Netrebko. The production was transmitted to movie theaters throughout the U.S. and in over 50 countries as part of the Met’s “Live in HD” series. In the spring of 2012 he returned to Zürich for a concert featuring Richard Strauss’ orchestral songs conducted by Christoph von Dohnányi, as well as performances of Un Ballo in Maschera. He re-joins Diana Damrau at the Wiener Staatsoper for performances of Lucia di Lammermoor before returning to Salzburg for the Summer Festival’s new production of La bohème opposite Anna Netrebko as Mimì, under the baton of Daniele Gatti. The first night will be broadcast on international television.
