  • 30.01.2020 - Mezzo-Soprano Emily D’Angelo joins CSAM for General Management

    Centre Stage Artist Management is thrilled to announce that Canadian-Italian mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo has joined the roster for general management.

    The 2019/2020 season sees D'Angelo in debuts at the Vienna Staatsoper as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Opéra de Rouen and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in the title role of Handel's Serse, and a return to both the Canadian Opera Company and Santa Fe Opera as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia.  This season also includes concerts with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Toronto Symphony, Puerto Rico San Juan Symphony, the Edmonton Symphony, and the Vancouver Symphony. 

    One of WQXR NYC Public Radio’s "40 Under 40" singers to watch, and Canada's "Top 30 Under 30" Classical Musicians, D'Angelo has won numerous international competitions including the Operalia Competition where a historic win included First Prize, the Zarzuela Prize, the Birgit Nilsson Prize, and the Audience Prize, as well as first prize at the Metropolitan Opera Competition, the Canadian Opera Company Competition, the George London Competition, the Gerda Lissner Competition, and the Innsbruck Baroque Competition.

    Highlights of previous seasons include Annio in La clemenza di Tito at the Metropolitan Opera, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte at the Canadian Opera Company and the Santa Fe Opera, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Glimmerglass Festival, and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Berlin Staatsoper and at the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, where she made her stage debut in 2016 and was honoured with the Monini Prize.

    Toronto-born, D'Angelo is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio. She is the first and only vocalist to have been presented with the Leonard Bernstein Award from the Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival.
